Guidance for using Optimystic on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Connecting two devices

Keep both devices nearby with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.
Choose Display on the patient-facing device.
Choose Controller on the examiner device.
Allow Local Network access on both devices.
Select the intended display if it does not connect automatically.

Using Apple Watch

Install and open Optimystic on the paired Apple Watch.
On iPhone setup, turn on Use Apple Watch to score.
Start the screening from iPhone, then use the Watch controls to record responses.

Calibration

Use the ruler button on the patient-facing device and verify the 50 mm bar with a physical ruler before relying on optotype sizing.

Privacy and troubleshooting

Results remain in the app sandbox unless you intentionally export a PDF. If a nearby device does not appear, confirm Local Network permission in iOS Settings and reopen Optimystic on both devices.
